YOU ARE CREATIVE!!

Ever wonder why there are so many products, companies, songs, movies or why technology develops so fast. It's because of one thing-CREATIVITY. People were born to create. We can't control it. It's what we do. And that includes you.

Let's start at the beginning. You are a creature. No, no, no, not like that hiddeous thing that comes up from the black lagoon but a creature in the true sense of the word. The dictionary defines creature as anything created, whether animate or inanimate; a person or human being. Since you are reading this, it's safe to say you are a person, a VERY SPECIAL person. You are special, not because of anything you've done, but because of who you are. You are a creature created in the image of the Great Creator-God Himself. Just as we see characteristics of ourselves in our children or (whether you like it or not) see characteristics of our parents in us, God has put His image (characteristics) in you and me when He created us. One of those characteristics is creativity. 

But, "I'm not creative."  I knew you were going to say that.

Okay, let's rewind....."You are a creature created in the image of the Great Creator-God Himself."
Therefore, it follows that YOU ARE CREATIVE. Granted, not every person is a painter, novelist, songwriter, performer, or director, but, you are creative. I was talking to someone recently who told me about how they are enjoying a new way of witnessing. This person noticed that when they were at the gas station the Holy Spirit would prompt them to pay for someone's gas. Doing that has opened up all kinds of possibilities to share Jesus and encourage others. THAT IS CREATIVITY! With no music, dancing or video camaras there was a moment in time when one person shared what they were blessed with to bless another. In other words, there was a moment of creativity. Are you good at giving to others in different ways? Are you good at solving problems or puzzles? Do you enjoying baking or cooking for people? You are creative.

When we create, we experience a sense of joy and fulfillment because we are being like our Creator and that feels good. In a very real way, creativity is an act of worship which glorifies God who gave us what we are sharing. What have you been blessed with that you absolutely love blessing others with? When you can answer that, you've found your creativity (your creative outlet). When you use your creativity to bless others, IT MAKES GOD SMILE because He put that in you to share. And remember, it doen't just have to be one thing. Like our Creator, you are probably creative on multiple levels and in many areas. You were given to give. Spend some time today thinking about all the ways God has put creativity in you. Thank Him for giving you these gifts and go put a smile on His face by using them to bless others.
